Dear Mr. Pollay,
Let me first say congrats on the upcoming book. I think you have hit on a great concept. My 6th grade daughter came home from school one day to tell me all about The Law of the Garbage Truck…Her teacher had used it as a lesson in class. She was so excited and she could easily relate to your analogy. I hope her enthusiasm spreads to all of the other middle schoolers!!! I think a kids version of this book would sell like hotcakes.
I am a girl scout leader for a troop of twelve 4th graders and plan on using your concept to role play and discuss healthy relationships (and earn a patch of course). My daughter was lucky enough to get some of your promotional material that included The Law of the Garbage Truck. I am interested in seeing if you might be able to send me either the stickers or business cards. I would also say that I work at Barnes & Noble and if I had some extra cards I would be happy to hand them out in my store and hand sell the book.
Thanks for your time and consideration and best of luck with the upcoming release of your book,
Dana Meve
Sounds like a win-win to me
Congratulations, David! Way inspiring!
Thanks, Louis, for your support as always. I really appreciate it. You’re a good man.
All the best,
David
Hi Dana,
Thanks for your great wishes! It’s great to hear from you. I’m so happy to hear about the positive impact The Law of the Garbage Truck has had on your daughter. She sounds great. Please send her my best. If you haven’t already been to our Facebook page, I think it would be fun for you to watch our mini-movie. It’s under “The Law” tab.

Dana, I would be happy to send you a special pack of materials for your girl scout troop. And likewise I’m happy to share with you cards for Barnes & Noble. Thanks for thinking of me. Coincidentally, my publisher is Sterling Publishing (a Barnes & Noble company). I will be speaking at four B&N events in October (four different cities across Florida).
Send me your address, and tell me more about your girl scout troop (I have two young daughters) and Barnes & Noble. You can find me at: david@themomentumproject.com
Dana, thanks again for the great post. Please send my best to your daughter.
All the best,
David
Hi David….
I was extremely inspired and motivated by your presentation at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital on October 1, 2010. Your enthusiasm, and the analogies/stories that you use, as well as the truth of what the concept implies, had me laughing and teary-eyed at the same time. As a matter of fact, I sat through your lecture with a smile pasted on my face. I was at one with your spirit and your inspiring message, as well as, God’s spirit of love. The laughter we experienced was from the belly. The integrity and dignity that we receive from living these principles are the heart & soul of the spirit we were all born to experience & live. However, with the trials & tribulations many of us experience early in life, we veer off that path & the original principles go by the wayside. Your simplistic and friendly words & ideas make this idea reachable, and give hope for the future of many. Thank you for being you.
Dear David

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the heads up…I hope we fixed it right away for you. I’ll double check again now.
Thanks for the support.
All the best,

I have a question. In chapter 6, concerning memories, you state you wake up happy to your wife and children and the next section is about waking up unhappy when you are alone on business.
What about people that live alone and never have anyone to wake up beside? As you said, that is VERY negative. I wake up sometimes and immediately I think, “I’m alone”, and my heart is aching. I’m 62 years old (though people think I’m younger, but I look older by the day), and the past several years have felt like I keep getting punched in the gut. I just went through another punch and I feel like I can’t take any more. I was just on a mission trip to Brazil and helping those people find God was amazing, but I still felt sad while I was there. I can’t function any more. All I want is someone to love and be loved and happy. Sorry for ranting!
Hi Jan,
Thanks so much for writing. As you can guess, I’m not always able to wake up to a hug and a kiss. And we also know that life — even in marriage — is not always easy. Anyone who says that it’s perfect all the time is not telling you the full story. And 99% of all or us has felt down or depressed at some point in time. You’re not alone.
The key to improving our relationships is to watch how much we become a Garbage Truck in our lives. How much negativity are we accepting from others? How much are we dumping on ourselves? And how much are we dumping on others? We both know that the more garbage we accept, and the more garbage we dump, the worse we feel. We’re not happy alone, and we’re not happy with others…and we are less attractive to other people.
Jan, a friend told me the other day…are you going to “claim” how you’re feeling. You’re clearly a special person. Not everyone is willing to give of themselves on a mission trip. You are, and that’s amazing. There’s good in your life. We just want to amplify more of the good.
No worries on your “rant;” I took it as though you were “venting,” as we talk about in the book.
Jan, would you let me know when you read the whole book? I want you to please write back and tell me how it helps you. I’m here for you.
All the best,
David
Hi David,
I discover you and this blog via Steve Siebold. The title of the book is interesting. I have a question for you. Is the speech workshop given by siebold worth the investment ? I consider taking it in London as I live in Brussels.
Thanks for your reply.
Love,
Caroline
David,
I haven’t gotten through your book yet. I just finished chapter 7 about Athen. I have something I really want to share with you that might be able to help his problem, prolong the problem, or might just be worth a try for a person that deserves it. I am completely forreal about having something I want to discuss with you. Please send me an email where we can talk in another form than comments. But I do love your book it is helping everyday get better I just want to possibly bless Athen with what I have to share.
Brett S.
Hi Brett,

Hi Caroline,
Steve’s a good guy. You’ll love his workshop if you want to be a speaker. He’s excellent, and the material is powerful.
And thanks for thinking of picking up The Law of the Garbage Truck…it’s available in Belgium.
All the best,
David
